Palliative Care Admissions

This section reviews the common presentations to hospitals that palliative care patients experience. These are more specific to malignant disease, as the common admissions in non-malignant disease will be individual to the disease process e.g. fluid overload in cardiac failure and management guided as such. Some of these presentations, however, may also occur without a malignant explanation and these approaches to palliation may be applied more widely.
